SADBHAVAN KE SIPAHI :: RAJIV ARORA

Rajiv Arora , born in Jaipur, he comes from a family of highly educated professionals. His father was a lawyer, his uncle and aunt are doctors, both his brothers are lawyers and his Grandfather was a doctor and was honoured with the title “RAISAHIB”. 

Educated in Jaipur, he did his BA (hons.), Masters in History and MBA from Rajasthan University. He was inclined towards public life from an early age. In school he was always chosen as the monitor and was a perfect student.  In college he was the general secretary of Rajasthan College, then he was nominated as President of Rajasthan University.

When in college he became the founder member of NSUI (student wing of congress party), was general secretary of youth congress. He was also the spokesperson of the Pradesh Congress Committee and served in different capacities in the organisation. He was very active in sports – cricket, table tennis, badminton and has won many awards in debate competitions. During college one of his hobbies was going to movies, even now although it is seldom he enjoys watching movies. 

To support himself he started business of handicrafts in the name “AMRAPALI” which later on developed into jewellery business and is a well known brand – having outlets all over India, London & New York.

This gave him the opportunity to travel widely within the country and all around the World; helping him to understand various tribal cultures alongwith the modern societies worldwide. This broadened his vision which helped in the expansion of Amrapali as well in his various endeavors to promote Rajasthan’s Tourism as chairman of RTDC. 

To safeguard the interests of exporters he has been chosen the President of Federation of Rajasthan Exporters for 3 terms. 

To Spread Communal harmony, Shri.Sunil Dutt ji made him (member of the board of governors) of Sadbhavana Ke Sipahi. 

To look after the welfare of youth, he was appointed as member of governing board of Nehru Yuva Kendra. 

Besides these he is member of Central Board of film Certification. 

As co-owner of Amrapali he has given the opportunity to a member of NIFT students to develop their skills in jewellery designing and manufacturing through his three state of art factories in Jaipur. 

Due to his keen sense of designing, his jewellery has found a place at the New York fashion week, Milan Fashion Week. 

Fashion week in India and has adorned numerous Hollywood celebrities besides many Indian stars from years together. 

Due to its quality, designs and versatility he has found a permanent place for Amrapali at Selfridges in London. 

In order to help Jaipur to gain the prestigious place in the most beautiful heritage cities in the World he became the founder member of the Jaipur Virasat Foundation. 

He is also a patron of Disha – the school for physically and mentally challenged children.
